As for whether to take the levels together or a few months apart, I don’t know whether I’m the appropriate authority for that advice. However, from what I’ve heard, it’s generally best to take the courses at least some time apart because that extra time will be useful for preparing for the CS exam–for instance, the service portion, as well as memorizing the expanded pool of knowledge required for the CS versus the introductory exam.
